Expired or Invalid Licenses

Fastvue Reporter's licensing is tied to various aspects of the machine it is installed on, including the computer name, domain membership, and the account the 'Fastvue Reporter' service runs under.

If any of these factors change, your trial or subscription will become invalid.
 

Invalid Subscriptions

If you have license keys applied in Settings | Licensing (active subscriptions or trial extension keys), you can avoid this issue by first deauthorizing your keys before changing the computer name, domain or service account, then re-applying the key(s) once the change has been made. 

To deauthorize your license key(s):
1. Go to Settings | Sources
2. Click Edit license keys.
3. Remove all keys from the list and click Save

Your key(s) will now be deauthorized from the server and you are free to re-apply them on another server, or on the same server with a different name, domain, or service account.

If you forget to deauthorize the license keys before making such a change, just email support and let us know. We will reset the key(s) for you.
 

Invalid Trials

If you are currently using the free 30-day trial and do not have a license key applied in Settings | Licensing, you will need to email Fastvue support and request a trial key. Make sure you let us know how may firewalls you need to monitor, as you will need a license key for each one.
 

Invalid after upgrading

If you have recently upgraded, the Fastvue Reporter installation removes and re-adds the 'Fastvue Reporter' service and configures it to run under the local system account.

If you previously customized the account that the Fastvue Reporter service runs under, you will find the licensing is invalid after upgrading as the service is now running under the local system account.

Simply change the service to run under your custom account again and the licensing issue should be resolved.
